Greyhounds are usually very tolerant of children. Their naturally gentle natures mean that they generally love everyone, but one must use a little common sense whilst the dog is getting to know these new small humans. As with any dog, don't leave very young children and the dog alone together. Give the dog space, remember they may be scared when the children scream or horse about and if they join in the play, remember dogs play rough. The dog must have a place for time out, usually their bed, and it is totally unacceptable for any dog to have to endure being tugged and pulled about by children (or anyone else). I have cringed as parents allow youngsters a free reign to use animals as toys. It is a wonder to me that more children aren't bitten.
