It isn't really in most greyhound's nature to attempt to dominate the pack, but if leadership appears to be handed to them on a plate they will make moves to climb the hierarchy within the household.

Whilst most dogs have emotional scars from racing and need understanding, it is best not to treat them as a rescue case. Unless, of course, there are special circumstances. Don't be too affectionate at first, let them know just what you want them to do and what not to do, let them know the house rules, kindly but FIRMLY.
