Hello everyone,
My name is Sid (although the family affectionately call me Stinky). When I am naughty I get called "Sidney" in a cross voice. I have been with my family for five years now - and boy have I had a nice easy ride! These are right softies. When I first got here I couldn't get the hang of going out of the back door for a wee. Mind you, I was pretty good and only had two accidents and they didn't even shout at me.
I used to share my bed with a lovely lass called Misty. She could be grumpy with other dogs but she seemed to like me. Maybe she felt sorry for me because my bottom jaw is underdeveloped (whatever that's supposed to mean) and I have teeth missing so my tongue sticks out of my mouth. Misty grumbled at me at first, but once I let her know she was boss she used to walk over to me when I lay down and lick inside my ears. I used to love that...... But Misty died just before Christmas. My mum and dad thought I may be upset. Well, I was for a day or two, but then I realised that I WAS TOP DOG so I felt alright.
I used to steal things. My booty was bananas (complete with skin), a bottle of oil (which I chewed up over the living room carpet - the stain is still there), onions from the veg rack, cabbage stalks from the compost bin - in fact anything I could get my few teeth into! If mum shouted at me I would stand and grin at her and she had to turn away so I wouldn't see her smiling. But my favourite thing is dry white bread. Often people feed the ducks in the local park. Other dogs chase the ducks but I am only interested in the bread.
I am quite an old boy now at nine years old but that doesn't stop me chasing cats, birds or anything that moves. I am not allowed off my lead on the park if there are small dogs about. I don't know why as I only want to play. Mum said I am too rough and keep trampling on them - I don't mean to, honest. But my uncle brings his greyhound Duke and his mongrel Polly for me to play with, and my mum's friend brings her retriever Carla. Sometimes Ben comes over from Coventry with his mum and dad. He is a real old man now and he doesn't play with me but he puts up with my silliness (as mum calls it).
So now there is just me, Bruce (the budgie - tried to catch him but couldn't jump that high), and mum and dad. My young master Matthew joined the RAF. He has been to Iraq and goes to Bosnia in September. Wish I could go as well as there are bound to be lots of friends to play with.

Lots of love,

Stinky xxx
